Akitora chases after Matsumi, who’s in possession of his son and Uichi. The long-standing feud between brothers is finally put to an end, and Uichi, who has now accepted he’ll never be part of Akitora’s family, spends a sad final night with him. Twenty-seven years pass, and the two souls who have grown older, and perhaps wiser, meet again.
